Chrissy,
I went to school with Stephanie at Strafford and would like to contribute something to the famiily. I cannot make it to the service as we have just PCS'd to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. (My husband was in Steph's class at Strafford actually). Anyhow, if there is an account for the boys or a scholarship or something please let me know and we would love to contribute.
Sincerely,
Tammy Hodges

Hi Chrissy,
Thank you for your dedication to Stephanie and allowing us to share in her struggle. I live in Vermont and was on the National Federation of High Schools Basketball Rules committee with Stephanie. I had a colonoscopy in 2005 and they found a cancerous polyp and removed 1' of my large intestine. Fortunately for me, the cancer had not yet spread and thus I have been cancer-free since 2005. When she joined the committee, we shared two bonds...a love of basketball AND cancer. It's one of the mysteries of life why I am cancer-free and she did not make it. As the adage goes, and as you folks know better than anyone, "but for the grace of God, go I." My thoughts and prayers are with her family and her amazing extended family...

Hi Chrissy,

I don't even know what to say. I will start with my name, Nick Haskell, my wife coaches basketball for Hickman High School with Tonya Mirts and that is how I know Stephanie. Unfortunately, for me, I only got to sit and speak to Stephanie a handful of times, but in those handful of times it was blatantly obvious how special a person she was. Such great character, such love for life, and such love for other people. She didn't care who you were she would always smile at you and talk to you. She was entirely too young to leave us, it's obvious God had a plan and apparently He needs someone to coach a basketball team up there. May she rest in peace and may God give those boys the strength they need to move on.

Thanks for keeping us updated with all the stories and pictures.

I followed Stephanie first as a Lady Bear when I was just a little girl. I always looked up to her and was fortunate enough to catch several Kickapoo games over the last few years. I just wanted to say that I'm keeping all of Stephanie's family and friends in my prayers.

Aloha,
I too share my thanks and aloha with all of you. And while it is quite clear how strong Steph's touch was locally, reading Dan's comment from VT made me realize that I should share how broad her touch was. From the East Coast to out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean! I was lucky enough to serve with Dan and Steph, as we met annually in Indianapolis every April for the past few years. I got to know Steph more and more for about 3 days each year. That short time allowed me to understand all of the great things everyone had to say about her and to understand why she had such an AMAZING network around her. As much as we are judged by what we do, much of our true worth can be measured by those who choose to surround us. Steph's family and friends shows how great she was. Mahalo Chrissy - thank you for what you have done for all of us - near and far. And I keep the offer open to let me know when you find the chance to get out here to Hawaii - I will do my best to help make it great. I think all of us who have followed your blog will agree that you deserve a queen's getaway. I will always think of Scot, Levi and Drew - three guys who I have never met, but who deserve all of my aloha.

Aloha 'oe Steph - until we meet again.

I will always remember two simple words - STEPH WON!

Praise the Lord for you and Stephanie, what a blessing you are to your friend, Stephanie. your right she isn't here but she's with the Lord and she's coaching ,like she has never done before. I feel for her son's, i was thinking about her family most of the day yesterday, and knowing her son's will never get the chance to know their mother in the physical being. I pray for that family, for what they must be going through, especially her husband. May the Lord give them strength, peace and love. God is good. sincerely Yours,
