wow....just wow.

So I sat down last night and started printing off e-mails of people who want to help with meals. I was overcome with emotion. They may never have to cook another meal until Drew is old enough to drive and pick up dinner from China Wok! It is truly amazing! I am thinking about putting 2 people per week on the schedule. This way they won't have company every single night. I know Steph would love to visit with everyone but I assume she will need to rest also. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am working on a schedule and don't feel bad if you aren't scheduled to cook until December! I will continue to add people to the list so contact me if you still want to help!

Please pray today for Dr. Chris Edwards who is doing Steph's surgery (as I type this!). Pray for him to have the wisdom and ability he needs to make this surgery a success. Thank you all so much!

Steph,
We know that I tend to make light and see the humor in lifes challenges. I know you are being well taken care of, and that you are being carried in the palm of God's hand, so I'm going to let Him do his job, and I'll do what I do well, make people laugh. They (whoever they is) say that laughter is the best medicine, so I'm going to be sending you jokes and let those who are really good at it send other things your way. Please know Uncle Carl and I are thinking of you and keep you close to our hearts.
So....
There were two nuns..

One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM),

and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL).

It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent.

SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for
the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants.

SL: It's logical. He wants to rape us.

SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes
at the most! What can we do?

SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster.

SM: It's not working.

SL: Of course it's not working. The man did the only
logical thing. He started to walk faster, too.

SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute.

SL: The only logical thing we can do is split. You go that way and I'll go this way. He cannot follow us both.

So the man decided to follow Sister Logical.

Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is
worried about what has happened to Sister Logical.

Then Sister Logical arrives.

SM: Sister Logical! Thank God you are here!
Tell me what happened!

SL: The only logical thing happened. The man couldn't follow us both, so he followed me

SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then?

SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could.

SM: And?

SL: The only logical thing happened. He reached me.

SM: Oh, dear! What did you do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up.

SM: Oh, Sister! What did the man do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants.

SM: Oh, no! What happened then?

SL: Isn't it logical, Sister? A nun with her dress up can run faster than a man with his pants down.

And for those of you who thought it would be dirty,

Say two Hail Marys!

Love you!!

Hi, Steph - Lori Vaughn here (Charity's friend). Haven't seen you in awhile but have been praying ever since I heard. I had surgery & radiation this summer, so can identify with some of what you may be feeling. I can't begin to tell you the positive impact of friends' prayers and support, and how God sustained me and grew me through it all! I'm confident you'll do great and God will use this in a tremendous way. Still, I also know it can be scary, and would be glad to visit with you later if you'd ever like to.

I'm so glad Chris Edwards is your surgeon - he was mine, and he's the best! I've heard the same from many others, and I agree. Hoos is my oncologist, Helen Kim my radiaion oncologist. I've had a great experience with St. John's.

Again - you're in our prayers for a full, speedy recovery.

Lori
