August 24 10 am

Steph spoke with the surgeon this morning and we got more info. He will be calling a colon specialist and will most likely do surgery next week before they start chemo. He said he believes the cancer is at a stage 3. If they find that it is in the adrenal glands then it would be a stage 4. We are looking at a 60-70% cure rate. That's what I know at this moment!

Steph told my mom the other night that she has a sense of peace about this whole thing. She knows that God is taking care of this and we all feel God working. He knows that Steph is a fighter. He knows that she is the person for this job. She comes in contact with so many people and my Aunt Karen said it best when she said, "Someone in her life needs to see a miracle." God is using her to show people how AWESOME he truly is. Just keep praying. I can't even begin to guess how many people are praying. I do know that he hears us.

Keep your faith, be strong, be determined and I know something you are really really good at is fighting hard to win! I know God is right there with you every step of this new page in your life. I too had a calm of peace over me during the first week of my chemo and I knew then I would win my battle. Now I'm rooting for you to win yours!! Be strong and FIGHT!!! Love and prayers to you and your family

Hey Coach. Man, I really don't even know what to say to make you feel better. My family is right with yours though, my grandma just got diagnosed back with colon cancer. She had it in about 2003 and now it's back. She is starting chemo next week, so yeah. You and my grandma are super strong, I know that. I have been praying for you and your family every night. I know you are going to beat this cause you won't give up not matter how hard it is. I thought I had a hard life of going to school, ha. Hope your kids and husband are doing well. Hope he likes his new job, I miss him teaching me, =]. Anywho God is with you and your family like he is with mine. Keep fighting and fight hard, Coach Pearson fought till the bone and I know you can do the same. See you when you come back to school and beat the cancer. =]. Much love to you and your family. I'm prayin hard so I should get in a return a hard fight from you.

Steph -- The strength you have displayed thus far is hard to explain. It is amazing watching you stay so composed during this time. While you are focusing on winning your battle (which you will do, of course), you are teaching a whole lot of us a lot about Life. I know you are full of fight and determination...God will give you the strength all the way til the end. Keep believing!!! You know the KHS family is behind you 110%...You will WIN!!!

Coach,
It's going to be a privilege to share this chapter in your life with you--please know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers--My favorite Bible verse is "Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)--There are prayers already started on the east coast in Connecticut!! And I know they will eventually circle the globe. Start each day with the strength of knowing your friends and family are there!!!!

Steph,
I could not decide what to write so I decided to write down some of my favorite scriptures that I thought could sum it up best. We are all in prayer mode for you down here in Arknsas. You have any amazing strength and an amazing God . . . that is all I need to know!!
"We also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perserverence; and perserverence, character; and character, hope." Romans 5:3-4
"Now if we are children of God, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." Romans 8:17
"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." -Romans 8:18
"For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all."-Romans 8:24
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." -Matthew 10:29-31
"Neither height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:39
We love you,
Tiffany, Jimmy and Kennedy
